La Cubana, Benalmadena, Malaga, Spain

Most people would not associate the Costa Del Sol as a place to discover hip beach clubs.
Beach Clubs and hip are almost a contradictio in terminis.

However, this place located on a stretch of beach not bordered by (all inclusive) mass tourism hotels, between Torremolinos and Fuengirola, is an oasis where you can chill and lounge with mainly locals and expats. You'll hear mostly Spanish, Swedish, Brittish English and Dutch.

Good food, big portions! Bocadillos here are 2 massive sandwiches, Bruschettas are pizza size. But it tastes delicious. There's Icecream, cocktails. Food and drinks are not overpriced, however: fresh juices are 5 euros a glass.

There is plenty of staff, the music is rather ok, very varied, from latin to coldplay to phoenix to the beatles.

It's easy to get to, there's a small parking lot almost next to it. And more parking spaces up the hill.

Why we like this place?
- Chill people
- Away from mass tourism (but surrounded by it)
- good food
- not overcrowded
- great staff
- good music

Fish food tip nearby. Walk south pass a dark brown fish restaurant, continue into Fuengirola. Eat in the next restaurant on your left: los Marinos Paco, in Fuengirola.
